About Us

Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue is dedicated to finding solid dogs, solid homes. We are a Pit Bull rescue based out of the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue was created in the hopes of finding homeless solid temperament pit bulls solid homes that they can depend on forever for training and love.

Laura Gray- Founder/Director

I founded Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue in hopes of giving pit bulls a happy ending. There are so many wonderful, loyal, well-behaved pits that are given up to shelters and animal control because of the actions of their owners. These dogs deserve another chance, and it is my goal to find them forever homes.

I have two dogs. Zoi is a five year old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Pit Bull mix. She is active in agility, loves her Frisbee, the pool and has a personality that keeps me on my toes 24/7. Tucker is a three year old male Pit Bull. He is our goofy boy who sleeps under the covers, is obsessed with his ball and likes to carry his wubbies around to show them off. He has his Canine Good Citizen, hopefully soon to be Therapy Dog, and is currently enrolled in Rally and Agility.

Several years ago when my husband and I bought our first house, we knew we wanted a dog, we just didn't know what kind.  We also knew we wanted to adopt rather than go to a breeder and as we started our search, it quickly became clear one breed of dog was OVER-represented in the shelters and UNDER-appreciated in public opinion:  the pit bull.  Yet we couldn't stop ourselves from falling in love with their adorable faces and being drawn to their personalities.  So we did our research and were pleasantly surprised to find that all the negative hype was just that--hype--and that pit bulls can be amazing companions.  We adopted our girl Paisley soon thereafter and I can honestly say, I can't imagine our family without a pittie ever again.

My husband Jeremy and I, and our toddler son Grady, share our lives with our female pit bull Paisley (now 4 years old), 2 crazy cats, and often a foster dog (or two!) as well.  Paisley recently earned her Canine Good Citizen certificate and we hope to continue working with her toward a therapy title in the future.  I love being involved in rescue and helping people new to the breed learn just how wonderful these dogs can be.

I grew up as lover of all animals. Being an only child and living on a farm I had to improvise and play board games and hide and seek with the farm animals as I had no brothers or sisters. I knew from an early age that doing some kind of rescue work would be my calling. I fell in love with Pit Bulls after I bought my own home and could finally own a dog of my own. The personality of these great dogs is like no other. My dog Bowie has changed my life. His love and affection is what keeps me going. I want to help other great dogs like Bowie find homes with loving and caring owners who can help them live up to their full potential. I want to work against the negative perceptions that people generally have against this breed and help spread the love and joy to others that my dog brings to me.
